MIAS 2022: Nissan launches limited-edition Navara Caliber-X
After last year’s introduction of the refreshed Navara, Nissan Philippines launched a limited-edition variant of the pickup truck at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
Say hello to the Nissan Navara Caliber-X. Basically, the variant is a Pro-4X minus the 4×4 and is aimed at customers who want a sporty 4×2 straight from the dealership.
For its exterior, it took the 4×4 Pro-4X’s chrome-free approach to its grille, side mirrors, door handles, roof rails and even the Nissan badging. It also has orange contrast accents on the fender, skid plate and emblem lettering.
The new Caliber-X comes with standard zero-gravity seats and receives a leather interior treatment similar to the Pro-4X. For in-car entertainment purposes, the Caliber-X features Nissan’s 8-inch touchscreen audio that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity.
Under the hood is the same 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine found in the higher-performance variants of the Navara. The engine produces 190hp and 450Nm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
The limited-edition model also comes with Nissan’s smart mobility features and receives smart safety kits like a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display, Driver Attention Alert, Corner Warning dead, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, high beam assist, 360 degree surround monitor and moving object detection.
Other safety features available on the Navara Caliber-X are six airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, hill-start assist, speed-sensing door locks and ISOFIX anchorages for child seats.
The Nissan Navara Caliber-X sells for PHP 1.526 million, which puts it just below the VL Caliber 4×2 A/T in terms of price. The limited-edition variant comes in three colors: Fiery Red, Galaxy Black, and Aspen Pearl White (additional PHP 15,000).
